While at ISU, he felt called to ministry and transferred to Lincoln Christian University, where he received a Christian Ministries degree. "In the summer of 2011, I met my wife Amanda at Little Galilee Christian Camp. We began dating, and got married in December 2012. She is a 2nd grade teacher at Springfield Christian School. We work in the same building and often get to have cafeteria lunch dates together.  It’s pretty cute."
