The Vine 2014 Recap
On April 4-5, 2014 LCU welcomed 340 high school students and youth sponsors from across the Midwest for the second annual Vine Conference. Students came to our campus in Lincoln, IL, from 39 different churches from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, and Ohio!
LCU alumnus, Nate Ross ('05) was our keynote speaker. The Vine Conference worship team was led by current LCU Worship Ministry student, Mitch Wright. The theme for the weeked was We are All Witnesses - exploring what it means to be a witness -- to His story, of His healing, with the Holy Spirit, and to the world --through Peter in the book of Acts. The weekend also included breakout sessions led by LCU faculty and staff on topics that ranged from sharing His story through worship, leaving a legacy, exploring spiritual warfare, and many more! Evening activities included a blacklight dodgeball tournament, volleyball, basketball, and the Blend - a coffeeshop talent show featuring LCU students and faculty.
Students were encouraged to share how God was speaking to them throughout the weekend on a chalkboard in the Warheouse CoffeeShop (pictured above). Check out what others had to say from the weekend using #thevine2014 on instagram and twitter!

Nate RossNate Ross is a 2005 graduate of Lincoln Christian University. After graduating, Nate worked at LCU as an undergraduate Admission Counselor (2005-06) and as Youth Minister at Eastview Christian Church in Normal, IL (2006-08). Nate has been serving as Associate Minister at Northside Christian Church in New Albany, IN, since 2008 and joined the Board for GO Ministries in 2011. Nate married his wife Ruthie in 2007 and is the proud dad of 16-month-old Lily Beck.
Mitch Wright is a junior Worship Ministry major from Chesterton, IN. Before enrolling at LCU in 2011, Mitch served as the Student Life Worship Arts Director at Suncrest Christian Church (2009-11). As an LCU Undergraduate Studies student, Mitch has served countless churches around the Midwest as a traveling worship leader. He is also an active member of Chorale, FOCUS, and the Undergraduate Studies Chapel worship team. Mitch is currently serving as the Campus Church Music and Creative Arts Director for Eastview Christian Church in Bloomington, IL.

We've made it possible for you to register online for The Vine Conference 2014. You can register as a group or as an individual. After submitting the online registration form, you have the option to complete your registration by paying online using Paypal or by sending a check to cover the registration fees.

Registration fees cover housing, meals, and conference materials. As a bonus, if you register by March 17, 2014, you are guaranteed to receive The Vine Conference t-shirt as part of your registration!
- Early Bird: $25 if registered by February 15, 2014
- Regular: $30 if registered by March 17, 2014
- Late: $40 (Late registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt.)
Pricing increases will occur at 11:59 p.m. on the day of each registration deadline.
Where is Lincoln Christian University?You’ll find Lincoln Christian University in the heart of Illinois at 100 Campus View Dr., Lincoln, IL 62656. Lincoln is located halfway between Chicago and St. Louis, right off of Interstate 55. Our campus is on the northeast edge of Lincoln along Illinois Route 10.
What is included in the conference cost?
Your registration fee includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday, overnight housing, and a t-shirt.
May I pay by credit card?
You may pay online at the end of the registration process using PayPal.

Are the residence halls suite-style or community style?
LCU’s residence halls are community style housing. Ruth Hall (for females) has three bathrooms per floor. Alumni Hall (for males) has one shared bathroom per floor.
What should I bring?
- Casual clothing
- Toiletries (shampoo, soap, towels, etc...)
- Pillow/Blankets or sleeping bag
Do I need a parking pass?
No, a parking pass is not needed for general parking. Please respect the marked and posted reserved and handicap parking spaces.
Is there campus wifi?
Yes, there is free wifi available in all campus buildings.
What do I do if I have a special dietary need?
Please let us know ahead of time by indicating any special dietary need on your registration form. If you have any questions during the conference, please let us know, and we can help you contact the on-campus catering staff.
What is the cancellation / refund policy?
We understand plans can change! For a full refund, cancellations must be submitted no later than March 24, 2014. If a student from your group can no longer come, you are permitted to ‘exchange’ the student’s registration at no penalty.
