LCU Blown Out by CCCB

The Lincoln Christian University women's basketball team traveled to Moberly, MO, on Monday, February 11, 2013 to take on the Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) Saints.  When CCCB (16-9) and LCU (8-11) faced off last month, CCCB beat LCU, 66 - 41.  Monday night was no different, as the Saints ran away with the game, winning 92 - 46.

Playing their fifth game in 10 days, LCU knew they were in for a fight. The Saints proved more than LCU could handle, and wasted no time running the score up to 53-20 at the end of the first half . The pounding continued as CCCB won the second half, 39-26.  LCU was never able to find an answer to CCCB's fastbreak points, which were the majority of points scored by the Saints. CCCB dominated in the statistical categories by winning the rebounding battle, 39-26 and forcing LCU into making 23 turnovers. In comparison, CCCB committed just 12 turnovers. The Saints were also able to get to the free-throw line 22 times compared to LCU's 10 free-throw attempts.

Sophomore forward Alicia Carson (Gobles, MI/Bloomingdale High) led LCU with 22 points on 9-14 shooting, and she grabbed nine rebounds.  Sophomore guard Tatiana Colclasure (Effingham, IL/Effingham High) chipped in 14 points on 6-20 shooting and recorded four assists and seven steals.  For CCCB, sophomore Kelsi Mueller (Eldon, MO) led the team with 21 points on 7-10 shooting, with Mazie Dowdy (Eldon, MO) right behind her with 20 points on 9-16 shooting and nine rebounds.
