Red Lions Struggle, Lose to Eureka

The Lincoln Christian University (LCU) men’s basketball team (4-4) took on Eureka College (0-6) on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, in Eureka, IL. The Red Lions came out strong, but in the end gave up the game with a 30-point deficit to the host Red Devils, 63-93.

The Red Lions lept out to an early 10-5 lead, but the Red Devils came back with 14 straight points and outscored the visitors by 25 points over the next 10 minutes. After their early lead, LCU would head to the locker room down 28-50 and not see another lead for the rest of the game. Eureka’s offense was powered by five players scoring in double digits, while LCU struggled with a scoring percentage of less than 40%.

LCU senior David Graves (Eustace, TX/Eustace High) led his teammates in scoring with 15 points, followed closely by sophomore Raymond Shegog, (Sun River Terrace, IL/Lincoln College) with 14.
