LCU Hires New Cheerleading Coach

The Lincoln Christian University (LCU) Athletic Department is pleased to announce Chelsea Termeer will take over as Head Cheerleading Coach, effective July 1, 2013.

Termeer is an alumna of Normal West High School (Normal, IL) where she was a 2-year captain on the Varsity Cheer Squad.  While in high school, she also cheered on the Co-Ed All-Star Squad at Victory Academy for two years.  Termeer went on after high school, to serve on the staff of the National Cheerleaders Association for one year.  She also was a member of the All-Girls Competitive Squad at University of Illinois where she earned her undergraduate degree.

In accepting the position,Termeer said, “I’m looking forward to combining two of my God-given passions and gifts. I love cheerleading and sharing that joy with others. I also have a passion for discipleship and mentoring. I see it as an opportunity to invest in lives and share a common joy and activity.  I’m also looking forward to coaching in a Christian environment, as it will give me the opportunity to mentor, along with coaching. It is always nice to work in a Christian environment, knowing that we all have a greater purpose on this earth; to share Christ and His love to in all we do, even cheerleading.”

LCU Athletic Director, Mac Ingmire adds, “Chelsea is someone that will bring a lot of excitement to the cheerleading program, both on and off the court. She’s been at some of the top levels of competitive cheerleading and we’re looking forward to seeing her translate that onto the floor.”
