The Red Lions kick off the season by hosting Central Christian College of the Bible (CCCB) on Monday, November 4, 2013. For the last few seasons, this has been an annual meeting for the two schools, with LCU winning over CCCB last year, 95 – 60.
Following the opener, the Red Lions travel to Kirksville, MO, to take on NCAA II school, Truman State University on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Coach Ingmire expects this to be their toughest game of the season.
Half of LCU’s first-semester schedule is filled with invitationals as they travel to Pheonixville, PA, November 21-23, for the Hersha Hospitality Classic, hosted by Valley Forge Christian College (VFCC). In the Classic, they will play VFCC, Kentucky Christian University, and Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College. After Thanksgiving break, they will head north to Grand Rapids, MI, where Kuyper College is hosting the annual Mid-West Regional Tip-Off December 5-7. At the Tip-Off, LCU will play Multnomah University, Great Lakes Christian College, and Grace Bible College.
The second semester will start off with a big tournament January 2-4, 2014, as LCU travels to the Cookson Hills Classic in Kansas, OK, for the second year in a row. Other notable games in the spring semester include an 8 hour trip up to Dunbar, WI, to take on Northland International University and hosting NAIA opponent, Illinois Institute of Technology for the first time in school history.
Both rivalry games against St. Louis Christian College (SLCC) have been set for the second semester as LCU will host SLCC on January 28 and then will travel to SLCC on February 4.
