LCU Announces New Athletic Director

Lincoln Christian University (LCU) is pleased to announce that Mac Ingmire (LCU ’12) has been hired as their Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach, effective June 1, 2013. Since June of 2012, Ingmire has been serving as the Athletic Coordinator for the LCU Athletic Department.

Ingmire is not new to the LCU community. In 2012, Ingmire graduated from LCU with a BA in Business Administration. While Ingmire was a student, he also served for a year as the Assistant to the Athletic Director under the supervision of former Interim Athletic Director Ed Plumier. Ingmire also completed multiple internships while working on his degree, including one with the Athletic Department at Illinois State University.

As LCU's Athletic Coordinator, Ingmire has been in charge of the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Department.  He has also recently taken on multiple jobs with the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), including serving as the NCCAA II National Volleyball Tournament Director and the Interim Mid-West Region Vice Chair.  He will begin working on his master's degree in sports administration from Western Kentucky University in the fall.

Ingmire played basketball as a student at LCU under former Head Coach and LCU Athletic Hall of Fame member, Matt Clark, for four years. During his collegiate career, Ingmire was a three-year starting point guard, and served as a team captain for those three years. He is currently ranked in the Top 5 All-Time list for the LCU Men’s Basketball program for steals and assists in a career.   LCU enjoyed multiple successes during Ingmire's playing career, including a trip to the National Tournament in 2009 and a 20-win season. During the 2012-13 season, Ingmire served as the top assistant coach at LCU under former Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Davis Hodam. LCU ranked #8 in the country in scoring defense, holding opponents to an average of 71 points per game.  LCU was also ranked #3 in the country in 3-point defensive field goal shooting percentage, holding opponents to 29% from beyond the arc.

Ingmire reports, “I’m excited about the opportunity that I am taking on, to lead the Athletic Department at Lincoln Christian University. I strongly believe that there is great potential for all of our athletic teams to succeed here, both off and on the court. I’m also looking forward to taking over the men’s basketball program. There’s great tradition within the program ranging from the days of Doc Henderson, Lynn Laughlin, Jeff Mayfield, Randy Kirk, and Matt Clark.  I’m looking forward to carrying on and building the tradition of excellence that those coaches have set in place.”
