Program Requirements (33 hours total*):



Core Courses (8 courses for 24 hours, plus a 2-week 1-credit course, HS600 Introduction to Online Learning):
  ES620 Theoretical Foundations for TESOL    
  ES622 Introduction to Linguistics    
  ES623 Cross-Cultural Aspects of TESOL    
  ES625 Methods & Materials in Teaching ESL/EFL    
  ES626 Assessments and Testing for ESL/EFL    
  ES631 Curriculum Development    
  ES701 TESOL Practicum (2 hours)    
  ES710 Research in Education    
 
Elective Courses (3 of the following 4 courses for 9 hours) will be offered during the cycle for each cohort. Students may choose to substitute an online Bible/Theology course for one of the electives):
  ES627 Teaching ESL Grammar    
  ES628 Introduction to Applied Linguistics    
  ES629 Teaching ESL Speaking and Listening    
  ES630 Issues in Literacy    
 
*Any student with an undergraduate TESOL certificate should consult the program director to determine if he/she is eligible for a 30-hour MA degree. If the TESOL Certificate was for graduate credit and not applied to another graduate degree, all 18 hours may be evaluated for possible transfer credit.
