Laughlin Center

The Laughlin Center, completed and dedicated in February 2002, was named to honor Lynn Laughlin and Ernie and Naomi Laughlin. The namesake was made in recognition of Lynn Laughlin's long-tenured role as dedicated and enthusiastic friend and employee of Lincoln Christian University. Some of his many positions over the years include coach, athletic director, professor, assistant dean of students, director of admissions, and dean of student development. Ernie Laughlin, Lynn's father, served as a trustee for the college for over 16 years and filled other roles as minister and pastor of West Side Christian Church (in Springfield, IL) that allowed him to be connected with LCU in various ways. Rather than naming the Laughlin Center for Lynn and Ernie alone, they wished for Ernie's wife Naomi to be included as well, for her many years of dedicated service as "minister's wife" and friend to the college.

The Laughlin Center features four locker rooms that house LCU's six varsity sports. It features a fully-functional weight room, a cardio room that has stationary bikes, ellipticals, and treadmills, and a film room that the teams utilize when they are studying film or meeting together. There's also a full Athletic Training room, Jersey & Equipment Room, and athletic offices.

Gaston Arena

Gaston Arena, the basketball/volleyball court which is the Laughlin Center's main attraction, is named after Thomas A. Gaston. The plaque on the arena's Wall of Fame reads: "This arena made possible through the Christian concern and generosity of the Gaston Family in loving memory of Thomas A. Gaston. His connection with Lincoln Christian College and Seminary (now University) came through three of his children and two of his grandchildren attending the school. He dominated no headlines yet lived as a great and engaged man in the Lord's work."

Fieldhouse

In 2004, the "Fieldhouse" was added onto the backside of Laughlin Center. The Fieldhouse is an indoor soccer facility that also has the capability to hold men's and women's basketball, volleyball, baseball, and soccer practices. In the back of the Fieldhouse is a large area that holds a batting cage and equipment for the Baseball team.
