Baseball Biographies
Clay grew up in Shiloh, Illinois with his two parents Stacy and Tom Foster and younger sister Paige Foster. After college, he aspires to be a High School math teacher and a baseball coach. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 "I can do everything through him who gives me strength."
Chris grew up in Gibson City, Illinois with his two parents, Boyd and Angel Headrick and younger sister Brittany. He is currently in his last year at LCU majoring in Psychology. His plans upon graduation are to pursue a Masters in Marriage and Family where he hopes to one day own his own private practice. Chris' favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable - if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things."
Justin grew up in Shelbyville, Illinois with his mother Sue Miner, father MIA, and his 3 siblings, Carli, Devin, and Breezy. He plans on majoring in Kinesiology and Sports Medicine. His favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31 "but those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength and they will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Josh spent his life in the village of Pleasant Plains, Illinois with his mother Jan, brother Aaron, aunt Karen, and Grandpa and Grandma Frank and Patt. While majoring in youth ministry, Josh plans on pursuing a career in youth ministry at the middle school or high school level somewhere in Illinois. He lives his life under his favorite Bible verse, Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Trevor grew up in Mt. Vernon, IL with his parents David and Theresa and younger brother Landon. He is majoring in Psychology and Youth Ministry and hopes to one day run a private counseling firm. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 2:14-15 "Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe."
Alex James Bond was born in Norfolk, Virginia, but soon there after his parents moved to Erie, IL where he had resided prior to college. His major at LCU is Business Administration and hopes to persue a career in sales, marketing, or operations. He currently holds the position of marketing coordinator for Integrity Data, located in downtown Lincoln, IL. His favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 12:24 "Work hard and become a leader; be lazy and become a slave."
Derek Rucker was born in Jackson, Michigan, on October 19th 1984 to Mr Jerome Rucker and Mrs. Yvonne Rucker. He lived thre fo the first 2 years of his life. Then his family moved to the suburbs just south of Chicago. He has 2 sisters (Nicole and Danielle) and a brother (Chris). His major at LCU is Psychology and he hopes to someday be a guidance counselor in a high school. His favorite Bible verse is Galatians 5:22-25 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit."
Jason grew up in small-town Pawnee, Illinois with his father Rodney Barrow. He has a younger brother, Tyler, who lives with their mother, Cindy, near Petersburg, Illinois. Jason is a Psychology major hoping to work in a church as a counselor also and work with youth. His favorite verse is Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am you God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Jared was born into the world on October 11th, 1989. Raised into a Christian home by his father and mother, David and Tamara Nassiff. Jared is the oldest boy of two brothers, Brennan and Samuel, and has one older sister, Emily. Jared is enrolled at LCU as a youth/preaching ministry major. His favorite verse is Ephesians 4:1 "As a prisoner for the Lord then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received."
Andrew Scates grew up in Newton, IL. He was born on September 20, 1987. He is attending LCU for a secondary education degree. He will later transfer to ISU in order to finish his degree, where he will major in History and minor in Physical Education. He plans on being a history and p.e. teacher along with coaching high school baseball. His favorite Bible verse is James 1:19. "My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry."
Nick Walters grew up in the village of Heyworth, IL. He was born on February 2, 1990 in Normal, IL. His major is youth/preacher but soon will change to Biblical Exposition in hopes to eventually become a professor in the field of theology. His favorite verse is Romans 11:36, "For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be glory forever. Amen!"
Brandon was born in Anaheim California on July 25th 1989 but soon moved to Chicago. He grew up in and around Chicago until he came to Lincoln. He lives with both of his parents, Rando and Daisy Simeon, and two younger siblings. He is in the Youth Ministry program at LCU and hopes to work with High school students after graduating LCU. His favorite verse is Isaiah 61:1, "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners."
Richard was born in Newport News, Virginia on March 11th 1988. He then moved to the great state of Kentucky when he was three years old with his dad Larry, mom Linda, and sister Lindsay Weese. Richard is planning on majoring in youth ministry and wants to work with jr. high and high school students. His favorite verse would be Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
Samuel Seth Martin was born on the Southside of Chicago. He currently lives in Montgomery Illinois with his Mother and three younger sisters Savannah, Sarah, and Sammie. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration at LCU. He hopes to one day work in the financial services industry. His favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:6 "The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace."
