LCU's C.E. Course Paradigm

Chiristian Education Pyramid

“Christian education” is a term that can be defined many ways. It may be defined by its aim, Christian formation; or by its primary tasks, such as teaching and administration; or still again by its foundations, such as theological orientation and insights from social science theories. LCU's Christian education program embraces all three aspects. It provides an integrated perspective of these three dimensions of Christian education, centered and affixed on a Christian worldview. Courses are aligned with this paradigm so as to provide cohesion to the curriculum and a balanced approach to the study of Christian education.

LCU’s Distinctive’s and Christian Education

  • Theological Significance: Education that is Christian must be theologically-informed, and hence a premium value is placed on the voice of Bible-theology in the formation of Christian education.
  • Cultural Relevance: We must focus on the future in order to lead it. Christian Education cannot be outdated or reflect the reality of the 1980s, it must be current, dynamic and relevant to people today.
  • Practical Competence: Christian educators are to be competent in both pastoral and educational practices. Your seminary experience should make you a more effective leader.
  • Flexible and Personalized: We have three Christian Education programs from which to choose, most offered via distant formats, intensive weeks, and block scheduling; online, and the program electives can be tailored to your ministry.

LCU’s C.E. students will be equipped to be educational leaders . . .
