LCU Lectures

in a variety of ways, including the annual lectureships offered on campus. The LCU Lectures provide
a forum for bringing a wide range of noted scholars, teachers, preachers, and other church and world
influencers to campus. These free lectures benefit students, faculty and staff, as well as the general public.
During the fall semester, the James D. Strauss Worldview Lectureship honors the retired professor of
theology and philosophy. Past lectures for this series have included such notable thinkers as Leland

The Spring Lectureship alternates every other year between two different lecture series: the Seminary
Lectureship and the John M. Webb Lectureship on Preaching (named in honor of a long-term Academic Dean

scholars from the various disciplines represented in our Seminary, including such outstanding speakers
as Eugene Peterson, Walter Kaiser, Thomas Oden, Ted Ward, Robert Clinton, Kenneth Gangel, Raymond Bakke,
Robert Webber, Paul Maier, and Diane Langberg.
The Webb Lectureship on Preaching features preachers and professors of preaching who reinforce our
school's long commitment to the ministry of preaching. Past Webb lecture speakers include Fred Craddock,
William Willimon, James Earl Massey, Calvin Miller, Eugene Lowry, Haddon Robbinson, Thomas Long,

anniversary of his significant series on preaching.
