A Record-Breaking 'Run for Your Life'
The seventh annual "Run for Your Life" on the Lincoln Christian University campus set records on Friday, April 16. There were 157 registrants, the highest total to date for this 2-mile competitive run/walk. This included 83 from the LCU campus community and 74 from the local and area-wide community.
A new course record was set by LCU student, Daniel Thompson. He ran the two-mile distance in a time of 10:40, breaking the old record of 10:42 set in 2009. Thompson won $100 for breaking the record, plus $25 for being the Top Overall Male Finisher.
A special registration competition among LCU campus groups raised $266 for earthquake relief for Haitian Christian Outreach. Monies will provide 735 "Feed the Starving Children Meals" along with bottles of multivitamins.
