Local Businesses Support Annual Internship Fair
Thanks to the generous contributions from 49 local businesses, LCU was able to give away almost 400 items to students that attended the annual Internship Fair at LCU’s Laughlin Center. Donations ranged from goody bags, gift cards and certificates for restaurants, gas stations, and retail stores to services and products from the various businesses. internship relating to their area of study. To assist students in finding an internship, LCU hosts an annual Internship Fair. This year’s event was held on Thursday, October 8. At the Fair students have the opportunity to meet representatives from churches, mission organizations, church plants, campus ministries, youth organizations, children’s homes, homeless ministries, pregnancy centers and more. Some of these organizations are located here in Lincoln while others are across the world. The Internship Fair is critically important for students who are in need of an internship but are unsure of their options. This Fair has grown steadily throughout the last ten years.
The 2009 Internship Fair has been the largest to date, with almost 50 internship sites represented from throughout Illinois and various other states, as well as representatives from Japan, Mexico, Romania, Chile, Canada and Poland. Over 200 students from Lincoln Christian University attended the Fair, looking to find an internship suitable for them. Lincoln Christian is grateful to the local support in encouraging students to attend the 2009 Internship Fair and looks forward to continuing to partner with local organizations in the future.
