Lincoln Christian University Celebrates Name Change

Lincoln Christian College and Seminary changed its name to Lincoln Christian University (LCU) on September 1. The public was invited to attend the Convocation service at 9:30 a.m. in the Earl C Hargrove Chapel auditorium to recognize this milestone in the school’s history.  The featured speaker was Dr. Paul Corts, president of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and LCU alumnus. President Keith Ray, Ph.D. revealed the University’s new logo and communications strategy at this first official event of the school’s sixty-fifth anniversary year.

Students, faculty, staff and alumni are marking the occasion with a variety of activities throughout the day leading up to a free concert featuring FEE, a Christian worship band. The 7 p.m. concert is open to the public.

Dr. Paul R. Corts has served as Assistant Attorney General for Administration for the U.S. Department of Justice and as president of Palm Beach Atlantic University and Wingate University in North Carolina.

FEE is emerging in the Christian rock and contemporary worship music scene with hit songs that include “We Shine” and “All Because Of Jesus.”
Founded in 1944, Lincoln Christian University includes the School of Undergraduate Studies, the Hargrove School for Adult & Graduate Studies, and the Seminary. The University’s mission is to nurture and equip Christians with a Biblical worldview to serve and lead in the church and the world.
