Outside Borrowers
The Library is able to offer the following services for those who are not currently students or employees of Lincoln Christian University:
Alumni
Alumni may check out books from the Jessie C. Eury via a Courtesy Card. Current members of the Alumni Association may obtain a Courtesy Card for $15 per year by presenting their current Alumni Association Membership Card. A Courtesy Card is $25 per year without an Alumni Association membership.
Illinois Residents
Illinois residents may obtain a Courtesy Card for $25 per year, otherwise they may request books through their local public library.
Non-Illinois Residents
Individuals from out of state who wish to borrow books from the Jessie C. Eury Library need to contact their local public library. Frequently, local public libraries are able to borrow books from other nearby libraries.
Churches
Churches may participate in the Media Services Club Plan. Church membership in the Media Services Club Plan does not allow individuals the ability to check out books from the Jessie C. Eury Library. Individuals who wish to check out books must obtain a Courtesy Card.
Courtesy Card Privileges
• Check out up to five general circulation books.
• Books are checked out for four weeks, and may be renewed once per book.
Courtesy Card Responsibilities
• Abide by the policies stated here and in the Guide to the Jessie C. Eury Library.
• Present your Library Courtesy Card and photo ID whenever checking out items.
• Return all items checked out by the due date.
• Pay all fines and fees associated with the use of your Library Courtesy Card.
• Do not lend your Library Courtesy Card to anyone.
• Report immediately the loss of your Library Courtesy Card or a change of address.
Abuse of the above will be met with the following consequences:
- Inability to check out additional books until all books are returned or replacement charges paid and all associated charges or fees are paid in full.
- Withdrawal of Courtesy Card for 12 months.
Borrowers who wish to have a withdrawn card reinstated must return all items, pay all fines or fees in full, and submit a written letter of request to the Jessie C. Eury Library Director.
