President Keith H. Ray
Dr. Keith H. Ray became the president of Lincoln Christian University on July 1, 1998, only the sixth in Lincoln’s
sixty-three-year history.
Prior to his assuming Lincoln’s presidency in 1998, Dr. Ray served eight years at Dallas Christian College in various roles,
first as professor and finally as their president. Dr. Ray’s educational background includes a B.A. in Church Growth and World
Mission from LCC in 1980, a M.Div. in Theology and Philosophy from LCS in 1985, and a D. Min. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity
School in 1991. His church leadership background includes preaching ministries in Raymond, Lake Fork, and Toluca, Illinois. He
has traveled widely in this country, as well as serving overseas in Haiti and China.
Dr. Ray is not only a president, but also a pastor and preacher. He is at heart a preacher/theologian who loves to dig deep
into God’s Word and share what he has learned through the ministry of preaching and teaching. He is also a pastor who loves
the church and desires to serve God’s people through the ministry of mentoring. And he is a president whose leadership God has
blessed because he seeks first to honor God.
During Dr. Ray’s first ten years as president, God blessed Lincoln with unprecedented growth in many areas. Student enrollment
increased by 40% from 918 to 1,290 students; the faculty grew from 40 to 60; and new programs were added in Bible, worship, adult
learning, and Christian education, as well as an honors program and a Doctor of Ministry. In addition, the campus saw remarkable
expansion with more than $15 million spent on facilities, while the school’s endowment nearly doubled from $2.5 million to $4.9 million.
Dr. Ray is a native of Lincoln, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ray of Lincoln, Illinois. He is married to Jeaneen, daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. James Strauss. They have three daughters— Mrs. Ashleigh (Jason) Mauhar, Mrs. Allyson (Kent) Leesman, and Abigale, and one granddaughter.
