SCHOLARSHIP SOURCES
Many private organizations offer scholarships. Check foundations, religious organizations, and civic groups, such as the American Legion, Elks, or Kiwanis, in your community. Many companies have programs to help pay the cost of postsecondary education for employees or their children. Your public library is an excellent source of information on state and private sources of aid.
There are also free scholarship searches on the internet. The largest and most complete scholarship search is FastWeb. It provides access to a searchable database of more than 400,000 private sector scholarships, fellowships, grants, and student loans. .
